BIOL 422. Field Trip Experience
(Open to any Biology Majors- taking BIOL 211 or higher)

This study abroad course is complementary to materials learned in Biology 430 (a spring term prerequisite for this course). The course includes international travel where students will have the opportunity to observe, and describe biogeographical principles, with emphasis on island biogeography. While in Fiji we will focus our activities on Viti Levu, spending time exploring highlands to islands, beaches to forests. Students will gain hands-on experience with the environment and interact directly with small villages and communities to gain a new perspective of ecotourism, conservation management, and the impact of humans on island ecology.
