Cultural Communication Competence: Interacting in a Global Environment in Belgium Program Dates: Mid-May to Mid-June COURSE INFORMATION COMM 321WI: Communication and Film (3 credits) This course focuses on film, culture and communication. Specifically, it will explore the role film plays in our understanding of the history and culture of Belgium and the Benelux region. Students will evaluate a variety of films representing numerous elements of culture through multiple written analyses. Partially fulfills the university writing intensive requirement. Prerequisite: ENGL 223. COMM 340: Intercultural Communication (3 credits) This course examines the role that communication plays in an international setting. Specifically, it will examine the challenges of intercultural communication with a focus on political, organizational, and relational implications of communicating on the world stage. Fulfills the AIGM requirement. Note: Students must take both courses. COMM majors may use these courses to satisfy major requirements.
