Celtic Christianity RSTD 370 Students will visit important sites and engage in phenomenological research that focuses on Early Celtic Christianity as it unfolded in Ireland then spread to Scotland. There will be a special emphasis on the unique aspects of Celtic monasticism, its connection to the local environment and its spread across Ireland and Scotland. We will be visiting sacred places, walking and talking with each other, twenty-four hours a day for five weeks. We are not "in the classroom" for the whole period. The discussions and interviews that we will have will be both in the class setting as well as outside that setting. While visiting sacred places and walking on the trails, a good attitude is important. Conversing with pilgrims and hikers who are not in our class is also important.
