CLST 370

Examine Rome as the center of western culture and civilization through its subterranean foundations to the Baroque churches that now frame its skyline.

Explore the Etruscan and Republican and Imperial Roman culture and artifacts; the rise of the early Christian church, including the Vatican and St. Peter’s basilica; Renaissance and Baroque art and architecture, including Michelangelo, Raphael, Bernini and Caravaggio.
